New Years
MEANING OF ETO In Japan astrology is comprised of 3 elements---the teaching of Heaven, the teaching of Earth and the teaching of Humankind. The teaching of Heaven is the Jikkan: the 10 celestial stems----the inner and outer aspects of the 5 elements The Teaching of Earth is the Junishi: the 12 directions, 12 zodiac animals. The teaching of Man is the Kyusei Kigaku: the 9-star KI For example, 2013 KI TREND OF HEISEI 25/ MIZUNOTO HEBI DOSHI/ GO OUDOUSEI CHUGU/ 2013 Shinto is the natural human way to live within the harmony of Nature and the Four Seasons. Naturally in the cycle of Four Seasons when Spring arrives flowers bloom and trees outwardly manifest renewed fresh energy in accordance to the KI of Spring and new buds develop and bloom. During the fullness of Summer season they will reach out to the divine sunshine, and then bear fruits or nuts in the Autumn Season..then the KI will descend during Winter season and wait for Spring ... In the same manner human beings can live within the rhythm and movements of the Seasons....Human Life itself is brought about by KI.... All human beings are equal under the sun because we were given our lives by the light of the sun. Ten-Chi Dai Shizen/ Heaven, Earth and Great (divine) Nature has gifted us with wisdom, strength and courage so we could harmonize positively with Daishizen-no-Meguri/ ceaseless movements of Great Nature and use our ingenuity to correct imbalance. The philosophy of harmonizing with Nature and living according to the movements of the seasons serves as the foundation of Shinto. Ki Trend of 2013 In Japan astrology is comprised of TEN-CHI-JIN--the teaching of Heaven, the teaching of Earth and the teaching of Humankind. The Teaching of Earth is the Junishi: the 12 directions, 12 zodiac animals. The teaching of Man is the Kyusei Kigaku: the 9-star KI .....the year 2013 is Heisei 25, Mizunoto/ younger water, 10 element of Jikkan, Hebi Doshi/ year of Snake, Go O' Dosei Chgugu/ #5 Yellow Earth Star KI.................... Mizunoto Mizunoto is the 10th sign of the Jikkan/ 10 celestial stems. In the winter, with trees having lost their leaves and the grass withered, there is little to obstruct the view of the whole field as far as the eye can see. This scenery reveals all waterways in all directions. This clear perspective allows us to correctly gage our situation. This is the image that represents Mizunoto, which signifies standards, natural laws and logic. Mizunoto is also associated with making a plan and refers to the way all things develop in accordance with the movements of the seasons and the way trees and grass buried underneath the earth break through in accordance with the law of Dai Shizen (Great Nature). During this period, Ki is generated and the Ki of Yang (positive Ki). Mizunoto is therefore the beginning of signs in which seeds hidden inside create new life while absorbing water and warmth from the earth. Hebi Doshi---Mi (The Snake Year) The Snake (Mi) signifies the peak of prosperity of all things. The Snake is associated with self. It means that the Ki of Yang is omnipresent reaching its highest point before coming to an end. If it is the Ki of Yin or negative Ki, it ceases. In this period, fresh green of trees and grass have reached their peak of growth and the growth period is coming to an end. Thanks to the warmth and light of the sun, trees have grown healthy with plenty of leaves and flowers and their trunks thick. This marks the end of the growth period. GoOu Dosei/# Five Yellow Earth Star (Five Yellow Earth Ki) GoOu Dosei/ #5 Yellow Earth Star innate natural position is the Centre and is unique in that it does not have a direction on the compass. What a human being must maintain to live at its centre is kami, Buddha and ancestors. We need to live our life with the mind of Keishin Sūso/ we must respect and revere our ancestors and the kami. Five Yellow Earth is located at the centre. It acts as the central force and is the number of the centre of Ten Chi Wagō/ harmony and unity of Heaven and Earth. Five Yellow represents the action of Ten (Heaven) and Chi (Earth). The number five is called “Santen Ryōchi (consists of three of Heaven and two of Earth).” The number of Heaven and the number of Yang is three. This number of Heaven is the principle of Sangōhō or literally the method of unity of three. The number of Earth is two and it is also the number of Yin. Five is a combination of this number of Heaven, three, and the number of Earth, two. It is the number that has both Yin and Yang, which is the number of the union of Heaven and Earth (Ten Chi gattai). Just in the same way as The Five Kotoamatsu Kami or Separate Heavenly Kami in Kojiki (Records of Ancient Matters), this is why Umashi Ashikabi Hikoji no Kami (The Pleasant Reed Shoot Prince Elder Deity) and Ame no Tokotachi no Kami (The Heavenly Eternally Standing Deity) are added to The Three Creators. When this number of the union of Heaven and Earth is multiplied by 10, it is referred to as “daiensū,” and it becomes the number 50. It is said that a set of divining sticks comes in 50 and consists of this daiensū of 50, and that is why it covers all things in the universe. In Go O'Dosei years civil engineering work was frowned upon from the old days. It is better to avoid new or expansion construction, moving soil, a moving house, and marriage in the direction of Five Yellow during these periods. There is no substitute for “oneself”. To be able to receive the Ki of the universe (ukehi) or receive spirit (ukehi) from the great power of the kami (Shizen or Nature), which is exactly what “lucky” is in real life, we must never forget that its prerequisite is to devote ourselves to make constant effort. In other words, we must elevate our level of reisei (spirituality). There is a practical way to do so. Law of Nature is Found in Balance and Changes Why do we as individuals and we as society fall ill in the first place? The answer lies in our disconnect from Ten-Chi Daishizen no meguri/ movement of Heaven and Earth and Great Nature ..... the result of such disconnect is arrogance and illness.... our way of life that is unlike that of any other animals. Civilised living is also unnatural living to some extent and diconnected living. It is contrived living. It is a fact that animals kept confined within a condition forced by the human like zoos or apartments are just as prone to illness as their human counterparts. However, unfortunately, there is no way we humans can get away from this civilised living that can be said to cause illness. We therefore need to devise a way to increase our ability to live in harmony with Dai Shizen (Great Nature). First of all, in this effort to recover our ability to live in balance in our everyday life, it is essential that we understand the law of Nature (Shizen). The aim of the spiritual technology of Misogi Shuho is to increase our ability to respond to Divine Nature We therefore need to devise a way to increase our ability to live in harmony with Dai Shizen (Great Nature). First of all, in this effort to recover our ability to live in balance in our everyday life, it is essential that we understand the law of Nature (Shizen). The nature goes through never-ending changes and there are opposing elements within that exist in harmony. In other words, it constantly achieves stability by balancing these changes. This is the law of Nature. What can we do to cope and move forward ------- the answer is the the heart and mind of daily gratitude for life itself ---- if we can manifest the heartfelt gratitude for the divine sunshine--- seek cooperation with the life giving forces as well as all beings and things we encounter our spirituality will be raised and we can become closer Kami ----we will receive inspiration form the divine world and vitality from the Earth itself...... Please practice Misogi, even in the shower or by washing your hands and face and and then praying before Kamidana or Ofuda: HARAE TAMAE KIYOME TAMAE ROKKONSYOJO DOUSO SARUTAHIKO DAIMYOJIN HARAE TAMAE KIYOME TAMAE ROKKONSYOJO MAMORI MICHIBIKI TAMAE In this way we can become closer to Okami and be more intensely alive in each precious moment.
